Spring I think, has finally arrived...I have been busy getting flowers planted. It was tough deciding which ones to buy at the greenhouse...I wanted 2 of everything... I'm always so excited to get to dig in the dirt...
There has been a lot going on at the Barn we have had some incredibly talented ladies making beautiful quilts.

Scrappy Trip Around the World
Scrappy Trip Around the World
February 22, 10 AM to 4 PM
Make these blocks using an easy, strip pieced technique. The basic block measures 12", and has scan be set in so many ways. Quick and easy to make, it's a great way to use up odds and ends of stash fabrics.
What you will need to bring:
Sewing machine
Rotary cutter and ruler
Thread
Seam Ripper - used as part of the process this time
Fabrics:
Strips of fabric, cut 2.5" wide x 16" - 18" long, each block uses 6 strips
You will want a variety of fabrics, and more is better this time. You'll need at least one dark and one light strip for each block, plus 4 other strips. Repeating fabrics is fine, don't think of this as a charm quilt.

CHRISTmas
Well Christmas 2012 is just about over. It has been a wonderful Christmas with lots of time spent with family and friends...We didn't have any retreats at the Barn in December....I was trying to finish Christmas quilts and still have time to do some shopping.
Well Rick & I did finish that shopping on Saturday. Can't believe we had 2 days to spare. That left Sunday to do the dreaded Grocery shopping!
Even though we didn't have retreats the Barn was put to good use this month....My sisters Regina & Lori hosted a cookie swap while I was having a "Premier Jewelry" show...Now that was a lot of fun...Then my family gathered to do some holiday baking... Lauren & Linnie were home from Martin Methodist and had friends over to play games and music. Those kids are so talented.
Then today (CHRISTmas day) we gathered once again for family, food, and fun times...
