Merry Christmas

Hope everyone has all those Christmas projects completed and all wrapped up...As for me, lets just say I still have one more day!  You see I don't stress so much anymore about the Holidays...I look forward to time with family. We all will gather on Christmas Eve at my Mothers house, when we all arrive with spouses, children, and grandchildren it is a FULL house.
Our traditions have changed a little over the years. We now have a traditional breakfast meal of country ham, tenderloin, biscuits, gravy, fried potatoes, and fried eggs...yum! yum!
Then when the kitchen is all clean we get to the gifts...which is mostly for the little ones & Mom of course...She loves having everyone back home...And she loves getting gifts.
Sometimes we walk up the street to the neighbors house where we spent a lot of time as kids...it's so good to see Ms. Doris & her family...Love them all!
Whatever your plans are this Christmas I hope that you have family and friends to share it with and remember the "Reason For The Season" with Joy in your heart.

May God Bless each of you and keep you safe..

A Quilter's Day Out!

This weekend the CEO and I took the day off and had a little fun...
We left early Saturday morning and drove down to Oak Ridge.
Where we met up with the Silver Threads & Golden Needles Quilt Group for lunch.
They introduced us to "The Soup Kitchen"  where the food was wonderful..Homemade soups, bread, salads & desserts...We will certainly be going back!
Next we presented a Trunk Show of a few of my quilts.
They were all so wonderful. Then they surprised me with a gift that is perfect.
Thank You Sew much ladies..I Love it...

From there we came back to Rockwood  where the city was having their Holiday Tour of Homes!
Our first stop was the home of a quilter....Not just any quilter. But my friend Shirlie.
Her home was so warm and inviting...Oh! And there were a few quilts..
How cute?
Thank you Shirlie!
Then we went "antiquing" where we found a few treasures...
I love theAluminum trees....then I found a topper that I had to have...
Mother had one of these when we were kids...and it even works..on the way out the Carolers were coming in...
It was a great day...and now I'm inspired to do some decorating of my own...

A Quilters Home

On a recent trip to Cookeville I stopped in to visit my dear friend Marlene...
You could tell it was the home of a quilter, from the moment you get out of your car....
The porch was so inviting...
I kept looking for the pitcher of lemonade!!
Right inside was beautiful quilts everywhere...
Then she showed me her amazing studio....
It was wonderful...and sew organized...
Even her works in progress.  Were all ready to pick up and sew...
Droooool.
Who wouldn't want to stay and sew here?

Then on my way out I saw this CUTE sign
Sew sweet & true....

I have discovered that with all the photos and drooling I failed to get a picture of my friend.....can you believe that??   I guess I'll have to go back....thank you Marlene for sharing your space with me... And the limeade...(wink)

Weekend Away

What better place to blog than a traffic jam? At least Rick is smart enough to fill with gas before we leave.  Some of you who have rode with me know I will wait til that little gas light comes on. Then hope I make it to the station.

We started out the day riding thru the beautiful Indiana farmland.
Then we passed this truck and it made me appreciate all the hard work our American Farmers do so we can enjoy our fresh food.  I know I take for granted sometime just what we have here in the Good Ol USA.   Feeling Blessed today.
Then we arrived at the Indiana State Fair where the smells were "sinfully delicious "
I was tempted to try this, however I settled for Ice Cream instead.
Then it was on to the quilts.  They were gorgeous.
Then we wrapped up our day with a stop in at the new Tractors.
I may need this to mow at the Barn!!! Now back to the hotel where I have a seeing machine waiting patiently. And a new project to start.

Assembly Day with Edyta!

What A Wonderful Day...This isn't exactly Barn related however it was FUN related...

I spent the day with some great, great friends admiring some beautiful quilts.
This  is a few of the quilts shared by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts at TVQA (Tennessee Valley Quilters Assoc.) annual Assembly Day.

Edyta shared heart warming stories of her quilts and the Reasons We Quilt.
She is such an inspiration...
And I can't wait to start my next quilt...
This might be my favorite.

And here I am with my friends Sue & Leota...
Debra & Me
Me with Sue &  Marlene..
I ran into lots of other friends & some who have stayed at the Barn..But wouldn't you know I didn't get pictures...it was quite crowded..
There were also some amazing quilt vendors with lots of beautiful fabrics...and yes I did find a few things I couldn't do without...we'll just keep those a secret..

I want to share this last picture which is what you get when you hand over your phone to someone and don't tell them how it works....thanks Marlene
Yes! That away...
