Mountain Quiltfest

The CEO and I were up and at it early. I was so excited to get to the quilt show inPigeon   Forge
I was going to get my Lime Green Featherweight I have been dreaming of.
I had emailed weeks ago to make sure the man would be there and have it.
Imagine my broken heart when I found him and discovered he brought the wrong one. That's right instead of Lime Green. He had John Deere Green.  Yuck!
He did assure me he had one and would bring it to Paducah next month.  Oh well that just means another road trip.
I did run into a few friends today. Enjoying the show. Becky. & Pat sporting beautiful new tiaras.
Then I found Sandy who was surprised to discover her challenge quilt had a ribbon. Sandy and Pat came to the Barn where we worked on this project together.  What fun memories we made.
On our way out we ran into these  two dear friends.  Peggy and Marlene.  Love these gals.
We topped our evening off with dinner at the Apple Barn with some of our Barn Buddies.
Now the CEO and I are stuffed and on our way home.

If you have a chance be sure and check out the quilt show this weekend...

Talkin Turkey

My journey today began bright and early....I traveled two lane back roads and watched the sun come up on my way to quilt class in Oliver Springs, Tennessee...
I was off to a class with world famous quilter and author Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville fame..
Here is Bonnie with her Talkin Turkey quilt....
We got right to work sewing on our strings...which range in size from 3/4" to 2"
Here is my basket of strings...this is right up my alley....and yes there is a basket in there. Somewhere!
And this is my block...as you can see I decided to make mine "scrappy"....this isn't a good picture. It looks better and I'm liking the way it turned out.

Here are a few photos of "show & tell" by some of my class mates....
A big Thank You to the Ritzy Thimble Guild for hosting this awesome class...and to Bonnie Hunter who is a GREAT instructor....what a great way to spend "National Quilting Day"....

February Class

Hello everyone, hope you all are enjoying Sunshine and warm temperatures...I can tell the days are getting longer and that means spring is just around the corner...

I have this "cute" little block for our class. it is so much fun to make and easy...really it is...you can use a layer cake or if you don't have a layer cake just cut 10" squares from your stash. I have chosen a neutral fabric for my background. I like the way it ties it all together...
I have several blocks made, but haven't decided just how I want to set it together...I have several ideas. But I think I will wait until class and let you all help me decide. That's right in this class we will play with design...

So mark your calendar for February 28th
Class begins at 10:00 am (central)
Class fee is $25.00

Call 931-863-8362 or email at bbstowers@gmail.com to reserve your spot...

Thanks again to all those who continue to support us at the Barn.
Love you all & see you at the "barn"

Merry Christmas

Hope everyone has all those Christmas projects completed and all wrapped up...As for me, lets just say I still have one more day!  You see I don't stress so much anymore about the Holidays...I look forward to time with family. We all will gather on Christmas Eve at my Mothers house, when we all arrive with spouses, children, and grandchildren it is a FULL house.
Our traditions have changed a little over the years. We now have a traditional breakfast meal of country ham, tenderloin, biscuits, gravy, fried potatoes, and fried eggs...yum! yum!
Then when the kitchen is all clean we get to the gifts...which is mostly for the little ones & Mom of course...She loves having everyone back home...And she loves getting gifts.
Sometimes we walk up the street to the neighbors house where we spent a lot of time as kids...it's so good to see Ms. Doris & her family...Love them all!
Whatever your plans are this Christmas I hope that you have family and friends to share it with and remember the "Reason For The Season" with Joy in your heart.

May God Bless each of you and keep you safe..

A Quilter's Day Out!

This weekend the CEO and I took the day off and had a little fun...
We left early Saturday morning and drove down to Oak Ridge.
Where we met up with the Silver Threads & Golden Needles Quilt Group for lunch.
They introduced us to "The Soup Kitchen"  where the food was wonderful..Homemade soups, bread, salads & desserts...We will certainly be going back!
Next we presented a Trunk Show of a few of my quilts.
They were all so wonderful. Then they surprised me with a gift that is perfect.
Thank You Sew much ladies..I Love it...

From there we came back to Rockwood  where the city was having their Holiday Tour of Homes!
Our first stop was the home of a quilter....Not just any quilter. But my friend Shirlie.
Her home was so warm and inviting...Oh! And there were a few quilts..
How cute?
Thank you Shirlie!
Then we went "antiquing" where we found a few treasures...
I love theAluminum trees....then I found a topper that I had to have...
Mother had one of these when we were kids...and it even works..on the way out the Carolers were coming in...
It was a great day...and now I'm inspired to do some decorating of my own...
